STEWARDSHIP SECRETARY

Job Summary

The stewardship secretary is to implement the objectives of the Department of Stewardship and Development in the local church. Job Duties

1. Plan with the conference director of stewardship and development and the pastor for a stewardship emphasis series each year

2. Encourage and implement the teaching of basic spiritual concepts of stewardship during Sabbath services, prayer meetings and workshops

3. Assist the pastor in planning for and giving emphasis to World Stewardship Day

4. Coordinate a continuing program of tithe and offering education

5. Report to the church the activities of conference-wide development programs and encourage united financial support of the programs

6. Report to the conference director of stewardship and development the ongoing progress of the combined budget, church and school development fund and other financial and spiritual aspects of stewardship in the local church, as they may be requested and deemed necessary

7. Be knowledgeable concerning the overall church spiritual and financial plans

8. Serve on the following boards and committees

A. Church board

B. Finance committee

9. This office may be appropriately filled by one of the elders

The stewardship secretary is a member of and is responsible to the church board.
