SCHOOL BOARD REPRESENTATIVE
The school board representative represents the membership of the local church at the school board meeting.
1. Attend the meetings of the school board
2. Be liaison person between the school and the church
3. Be willing to help carry out the duties of the school board, which are:
A. Organize itself at its first meeting of the fiscal year.
B. In counsel with the Upper Columbia Conference and in harmony with denominational policies, provide a well-qualified faculty for the school
C. Appoint an executive committee and committees on finance, safety and such others as are necessary to expedite the business and loans of the school. The majority of all committees shall be members of the board and the responsibility of each committee shall be clearly defined.
D. Carry out all plans and policies voted by the constituency in sessions and provide for the general welfare of the school
E. Authorize the expenditure of school funds
F. Approve the annual operating budget
G. Determine needed capital improvements not provided for in the annual budget and recommend an equitable apportionment of required funds based on the amount of financial obligation for that year as determined
H. Provide an agenda for constituency meetings
I. Present to the constituency the financial matters and needs and programs of the school
The school board representative is responsible to the church board.
