JOB DESCRIPTION

TEACHER - ADULT DIVISION

Job Summary

The adult division teacher is chosen by the Sabbath School council to teach the Sabbath School lesson and have personal concern for the members of the Sabbath School class Job Duties

1. Foster fellowship through mutual sharing of concerns and prayer

2. Facilitate a discussion of Christ centered, Bible centered experience that is interactional between members of the class rather than a dialogue between the teacher and students

3. Suggest books and share ideas to foster devotional life

4. Make the visitors feel welcome and introduce them to the class

5. See that class record is taken 6. Encourage a daily Bible study plan

7. Prepare for and teach the Sabbath School lesson. Prepare a schedule of teaching assignments if there is more than one teacher

8. See that someone contacts every member who is ill or has been absent. Report visitations to the leader of the adult division

9. Assist the class in the establishment of class goals in devotional life, service, witnessing and missions

Job Relationships

The adult division teacher is responsible to the leader of the adult division and is to attend teachers' meetings. Assistant teachers are responsible to the teacher.
